RETURN PATH TESTER
These units are used to rapidly test the
return path of a CATV distribution system. Specially designed for
house drop integrity tests, they quickly and easily test cables,
passives, and amplifiers. RETURN PATH TEST TRANSMITTER The transmitter has a red LED and a green LED. The green LED indicates power to the 5MHz transmitter and the red LED indicates power to the 40MHz transmitter, (please note that only one transmitter is operational at any time). The three-position switch is used to turn the transmitter on or off. The switch in the left position activates the red LED and the 40MHz carrier. The switch in the right position activates the green LED 5MHz carrier. Centering the switch shuts the transmitter off. RETURN PATH TEST RECEIVER The receiver is capable of detecting carriers from 5-40MHz and,
like the transmitter, has a green LED, a red LED, and a three way
switch. The left position
is OFF, the center position is ON, the right position will light the
red LED indicating power to the receiver. When either the 5 or 40MHz
carriers are detected, the green LED will light indicating that
signal is present (pass). If the green LED does not light, then the
signal cannot be detected (fail). If the green LED is barely visible
some signal is present but at a low level. |
